June 2019 Month in Review
My month in review. Let’s see how I did!

Books read

In order to meet my Goodreads goal of 100 books, I need to read 8.33 books per month. According to Goodreads, I’ve read 8 books this month:

  1. Keep Going by Austin Kleon
  2. Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly
  3. A World of Artist Journal Pages
  4. Escape Room by Megan Goldin
  5. The 12 Week Year by Brian P Moran
  6. Soon by Andrew Santella
  7. Gwendy’s Button Box by Stephen King
  8. Night Window by Dean Koontz

June Reviews

  1. The Other Woman by Sandie Jones
  2. Protect the Prince by Jennifer Estep

My challenge results are a mixed bag this month.

I’ve completed the Library Love Challenge and may shoot for the next level.

Didn’t have any books for the What’s In A Name Challenge and Mount TBR Challenge. I really need to plan for these two instead of hoping that my normal reading will magically fulfill one of these slots.

Almost completed the Creativity Challenge. This one’s a fun one!

My Bookish Resolutions Challenge needs more planning on my part, as I’m only doing well with half of my goals.

I’m a few books behind on my Goodreads Challenge, but should be able to catch up in July. I’m going to try reading before bed for at least an hour, to help wind down from the day as well as catch up on my reading. Should be a win-win!

The big news is that I finished moving my blog from Blogspot to self-hosted WordPress!

Took me awhile as I’m a terrible procrastinator, but finally moved everything over and set up the redirects.

The formatting on some posts is a little wonky as they had been customized to my Blogger site, but I’ll slowly go through them and will update as best I can.

I’m also still working on updating the pictures that I used to host on photobucket. (boooooo!) (I am not a fan of photobucket, who demanded a King’s ransom to keep hosting my pics).

Thinking about adding some new features to the blog, since I feel like I’m getting a fresh start and all.

Maybe some discussion posts? I’ve been experimenting with round-ups of books on my radar, so will see if that works out as planned. I still want to do the monthly Down the Rabbit Hole posts as that’s been helping me clean up my wish list, but not sure if anyone but me likes those.

I’m also going to try and get into the habit of monthly newsletters instead of sending out new posts as they’re published. Sort of a monthly wrap-up via email. I did a couple, then missed a month. Oops!

Anyway, please let me know if you’d like to see anything in particular. I’m still going to focus on reviews, but I want to try new things.

Also, what do you think of the blog theme I picked? I went with something simple, but not sure if I like it or not. Going from two sidebars to one felt weird, but it’s growing on me. I do miss my green background on the old theme, but this one seems brighter and lighter.

Anyway, hope you have a great July! Stay cool (or warm if it’s your winter)!

  1. Simple is good. It’s clean and easy to read, that’s what readers what. 🙂
Happy July! It seems you’re right on track!
