Going to start doing month in review wrap-ups again to try and keep me on track. Let’s see how I did!

Books Read

In order to meet my Goodreads goal of 100 books, I need to read 8.33 books per month. I’ve read 10 books this month:

  1. And Every Morning The Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman
  2. Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett
  3. You Are a Badass Every Day by Jen Sincero
  4. Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
  5. 13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don’t Do by Amy Morin
  6. Stray Moon by Kelly Meding
  7. Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
  8. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
  9. Watcher in the Woods by Kelley Armstrong
  10. Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire

January Reviews

Since I need to average 8 books a month, looks like I’m on track to make my 100 book Goodreads goal this year. This will be my year, I can feel it!

Found a book that will fit one of the categories for the What’s In A Name Challenge, so have it on hold at the library. My plan is to be more deliberate with this challenge instead of relying on serendipity. Sadly, serendipity has never worked for me (but it sure is fun to say!).

Haven’t started the Mt TBR Challenge yet but am doing well with Library Love!

The most interesting challenge for me is the Bookish Resolutions Challenge. Haven’t tackled my NetGalley score (54%) or ebook freebies yet, but doing okay with the rest of my resolutions.

Will this be the year I finally complete some of my reading challenges? Fingers crossed!

Around the Blogosphere

While I don’t normally check my horoscope, I love the ones that come out at the beginning of the year! So I was excited when I saw that Read It Forward had posted our 2019 Literary Horoscopes. While I was intrigued by their predictions that I was meant to live the good life and experience life-changing travel, none of the suggested books really rang my bell. But I am looking forward to living the wild life, followed by a period of relaxing. Of course, I’ll need to catch my breath after all that wild living! lol

You’ve heard about Wigtown, Scotland by now, right? They’ve been Scotland’s official book town since 1998 and Anne, from Modern Mrs. Darcy, got to visit! Not only visit, but help run one of the used bookstores, The Open Book. She’s recently posted all about her lovely December adventure and now I want to visit too!

Decided that 2019 is going to be my year! After neglecting my poor blog for the past few years, decided that it’s time to put up or shut up.

With that in mind, I’ve invested in a few blogging courses that should help me get back on track. Am learning new things and trying to implement them slowly.

I’ve also taken the plunge and bought domain names for both of my blogs. Now I’m trying to figure out WordPress before moving everything over to self-hosted sites. Have to admit that I’m more than a little nervous that I might accidentally lose something in the transfer.

So how was your January? Have you stopped writing 2018 on your checks yet? ha! It’s finally sinking in that it’s 2019, but I’m a little dazed and confused that it’s almost February already. Time is flying by much too fast!

Hope everyone affected by the latest Snowmageddon is staying safe, warm, and dry!
